Engineering Desktop Assessment and Initial Hydrology Study for a Mini Hydropower Plant (MHPP) located in the southern part of the Philippines

It is such a wonderful feeling to share our first ever project won and delivered due to the merger of our companies – Artelia and PTS. The merger officially took place in December of last year and in February 2020, we got awarded this first project – Engineering Desktop Assessment and Initial Hydrology Study for a Mini Hydropower Plant (MHPP) located in the southern part of the Philippines.

This project is important to the client’s decision-making process. Its objective is to define whether there are potentially viable hydropower plants within the project area. Deriving design discharges of the proposed weirs, identifying schemes and their respective power generation capacities also form part of the project objectives. In layman’s terms, the purpose of the project is to know whether it is technically and financially okay to construct a hydropower plant in the given area.

Services done include initial hydrology study to verify / append the estimated streamflow as depicted in the pre-feasibility study, as well as, recommendation to the client on which schemes to take.
